And So I Watch You From Afar - And So I Watch You From Afar

It's always nice to find a post-rock/instrumental band that doesn't follow the traditional formula of "slow, melodic buildup to a bombastic climax and then a slow, melodic outro", so I was really pleased when I first heard this album. It's the self titled debut LP from the Irish band "And So I Watch You From Afar", and it's sheer unpredictability more than makes up for their kind of silly name. It's loud, technical, and you don't really have to set aside some time to listen to it, as is the case with a lot of post-rock bands. File under: "Epic battle soundtracks." Give it a listen.
